Elevator going up? A gator that entered a Florida apartment complex got quickly evicted

Residents in a Florida apartment complex braved the invisible coronavirus germs in their elevator, only to find something truly scary in the lobby.

According to a Tuesday Facebook post from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, an alligator made its way into the building at Estero Parc residences in Estero and parked itself right by the lift. The LCSO said people who decided against taking the stairs couldn’t get out.

Granted, the reptile wasn’t huge, probably a baby, around two feet long, and it probably couldn’t reach any buttons. Still, it really had no business there.

Deputies isolated the alligator until a trapper arrived and was “humanely” able to remove the little guy.

Some commenters on the post found humor in the situation.

“It was just checking its mail.”

“It just wanted to see its friends on the second floor.”

“Do alligators not have the right to use elevators? They have trouble with stairs.”
