Palm Beach man arrested for child porn might be running a day care in his home, cops say
Palm Beach County resident David Manas was arrested Thursday morning on 30 counts of child pornography possession. And the sheriff’s office says it hears a day care center is being run out of his home.
If that’s accurate, a check of Florida Department of Health-Palm Beach County and Florida Department of Children and Families online records say it would be an unlicensed day care center.
In announcing the 62-year-old Manas’ arrest, PBSO said “Detectives received information that a day care is currently being run out of the Manas’ home.”
The address listed for Manas, according to the sheriff’s office, is 23152 SW 58th Ave. in unincorporated Palm Beach County. Palm Beach County property records say Manas bought that 2,200-square-foot property in August 1993 and the home has three bedrooms and two bathrooms.
In Palm Beach County, licensing for child care is handled by the Department of Health. A search of the department’s online records for licensed child care facilities says the closest one to Manas’ home is approximately 400 yards west of Manas’ house. Manas’ address also doesn’t turn up in DCF’s online search of licensed child care providers.
PBSO requests that anyone who might have used child care services provided by Manas or at his home call Detective Amy Hoffman at 561-688-4057.
