A baby gator was doing laps in a Florida family’s pool. They were not OK with that

Florida in summer. We get it, it’s hot.

Alligators get it, too. Even itty bitty, adorable ones.

A baby gator was found Wednesday in a pool filter in a home in Westchase, Florida, in Hillsborough County, reports wildlife center Croc Encounters.

According to a Facebook post, the emergency call came in after homeowners noticed the little guy doing laps.

“Every time they opened the filter lid the alligator would dart out and swim laps around the pool,” the post noted.

The pros were able to get him out, “no problem,” and the reptile was released back to the wild due to its small size.

Alligators under 4 feet are not considered a nuisance unlike larger ones who are not able to be relocated under Florida law.

Busy week for these folks. Croc Encounters reports on Tuesday that they managed to pry an alligator from a horse pasture. That gator, which is injured and is missing a limb, has a new home at the center, the post said.
