‘Got a problem’: Tech guy bought dirty underwear and ate it, Florida sheriff says
Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd has more on his plate than the pandemic and protests.
On Tuesday, he released more details about the arrests of 17 people on child pornography charges as part of Operation Guardians of Innocence V.
“Operation Guardians of Innocence V” focuses on identifying and arresting individuals involved in the possession, promotion, and distribution of child pornography. The sting resulted in a total of over 1,400 felonies filed against the suspects, with more charges pending.
In a news conference in Lakeland, Judd talked about the variety of “deviants” from all walks of life. The suspects included two Disney World employees, a pharmacist, an intensive care nurse, and a “bonus,” an IT specialist with Lockheed Martin.
Jose Araiza was charged with distributing and attempting to buy child pornography. He also had a thing for purchasing and eating soiled children’s underwear off eBay. The 58-year-old Winter Haven resident was immediately fired from the global aerospace company after his January arrest, the sheriff said. His professional profile still appears on LinkedIn.
Araiza “was buying these things and ingesting them. Did you hear me?” Judd said of the married father of two. “He was munching on them. This guy’s got a problem. I don’t know if he realizes it or not, but the rest of the world does.. This guy was doing these ugly things.”
Araiza was being held on no bond on 16 child-porn charges, second-degree felonies.
