She cut herself on a window then tried splashing her hepatitis C blood on a nurse: cops

A homeless woman with hepatitis C is accused of intentionally trying to splash her blood on a nurse in North Florida.

Amber Delemos, 29, was arrested Saturday and charged with aggravated assault on an emergency medical care provider. Jail records show she’s being held in Escambia County on $10,000 bond.

Delemos arrived Saturday at a Pensacola hospital for treatment on her hand after “punching out a window,” according to an arrest report. She later became belligerent for unknown reasons.

When a nurse tried to calm her down, she noticed Delemos had ripped out her IV. That’s when the 29-year-old began wielding the blood dripping down her arm as if it were Excalibur.

“She began flailing her arm at them in an attempt to splatter them with blood,” an Escambia Sheriff’s Office deputy wrote.

But Delemos wasn’t finished. She then leaped from the bed and charged the nurse, the report says.

The healthcare worker quickly exited and shut the door behind her. Additional medical staff had to come to restrain Delemos.

This wasn’t the first time Delemos had gotten herself into trouble.

Court records indicate Delemos received probation for a 2019 assault case in which deputies alleged she strangled her mother. Some of her prior convictions included a misdemeanor trespassing in January, resisting arrest in 2018 and driving under the influence in 2015.
