Watch cops line up down the street to throw a little girl a surprise birthday party
Birthdays in quarantine aren’t always the most fun.
But people around the world are getting creative about how to celebrate when you can’t have your friends and family around.
Zoom helps. Even law enforcement isn’t getting in on the action.
On Saturday, deputies from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, along with some firefighters, gave a little West Boca Raton girl a birthday she wouldn’t likely forget.
“Parker is a beautiful young girl who turned 7 today,” read the agency’s Facebook post. “She was very sad that she couldn’t celebrate her birthday party with her friends so our deputies and friends at PBC Fire Rescue paid her a little visit to let her know that she is not alone and that we love her.”
“Oh my goodness! Everyone came to see you on your birthday!” says Parker’s mom, Ashley Rowland, as the patrol cars line up down the street.
Video shows the mass of cruisers, lights on, sirens blaring. If you didn’t know any better, you would think a major bust was going down.
Uniformed officers, all in masks, sing to the child (also in a mask and candle tiara) sing to her, some with megaphones often reserved for calling out criminals.
Great job, officers. Let’s hope Parker’s 8th is a little different next year.
But, despite the fact you can’t see her expression due to the mask, the little girl was very happy about her surprise party.
“She was so excited!” Ashley Rowland told the Miami Herald. “She had no idea [so] when she saw all the officers she was shocked. She keeps saying it was the best birthday ever!”
