Florida police were searching for a missing person, but found a bruised, abused child instead
While they were searching for a missing person, Titusville police found someone else — a 57-year-old man who had a bruised and beaten girl in his car.
As the child played, her shirt lifted and exposed a large bruise on her back, police said. When an officer asked the man, Zongmu Wang, if they could check the girl for more injuries, he said no.
After separating Wang and the child, officers found more bruises.
Her lower back, right love-handle, butt and thigh area had “extensive dark purple, black and red bruising,” police said. She also had several red marks on the right side of her face in the shape of a hand. Her right bicep also had two circular injures along with small scratches.
Police said the girl, who was “developmentally delayed,” was dirty, and they saw her eat dirt. Wang told police he didn’t know about the injuries. Police did not say how old the child was or if Wang was the child’s parent or what relationship they had.
Zongmu was arrested and charged with child abuse and given a $5,000 bond. He has not been released from jail.
While Wang’s arrest report did not say which missing person they were looking for, Anna Primavere, 36, went missing Friday near where Wang was arrested in the Space Coast community at 4005 Trinidad Ave. Police did not link her disappearance to the discovery of the bruised child.
Police say Primavere went missing from the area of Knox McRae Drive and Barna Avenue. She is about five feet tall, weighs 120 pounds and has brown short hair. Police ask anyone who has seen her to call 321-264-7800.
