A husband stunned his wife by asking for a divorce. She stunned him right back, cops say
Divorce is rarely easy, but one Florida woman took splitting with her husband especially hard.
According to an arrest report from the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, officers responded to a domestic disturbance call Sunday evening in Clearwater.
A man told deputies that he and his wife of nine years got into a “verbal argument” after he told her wanted to separate.
The wife, Pamela Carr, did not react calmly to the news, the report says.
“During the argument, the defendant pulled out a Taser and dry stunned him several times.”
“Dry stunned” is when the Taser is deployed by holding it directly against the person’s body. The strong charge causes immense pain but does not incapacitate the individual, according to Axon, which makes the electroshock weapons.
Carr, 68, admitted to attacking her 73-year-old husband, Thomas Burke, but did so in “self defense, according to the affidavit. His injuries are unknown.
She was arrested and charged with aggravated domestic battery. According to court records, she has since been released on $1,000 bond.
Carr was ordered to have no contact with the victim and has been banned from possessing firearms and ammunition.
