He started a fight at the Chick-fil-A drive-thru, Florida cops say. Things escalated.
A trip to get a late lunch turned violent at a Chick-fil-A drive-thru in Naples on Jan. 18.
According to a police report from the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, a customer called cops after a man allegedly blocked his car. The victim had paid for his fast food order and was attempting to leave.
The patron was with his brother. His two small children were in the back of his blue Dodge Dakota, said the complaint. The victim told officers he honked his car repeatedly to get the suspect, Thomas Anderson, to move his black Ford Edge out of the way.
Anderson then became “enraged,” read the report, stuck up his middle finger, and cursed. Then the victim said Anderson got out of his Ford, came up to his open window and punched him in the head. The victim’s children became “upset,” so the driver parked and got out of the car to confront Anderson.
The victim’s brother, who took a picture of Anderson’s license plate, corroborated the story, as did a Chick-fil-A staffer.
On. Jan. 23, detectives tracked down Anderson, 62, as the driver of the car. He turned himself in through his attorney on charges including battery, a felony.
An arraignment is set for Feb. 17.
