Florida man beats up gas pumps and a drive-thru car wash after arguing with girlfriend
A Florida man angry with his girlfriend took his frustrations out on several gas pumps, a drive-through car wash’s machinery and, for good measure, punched some trees, too, according to Collier County deputies.
Hunter Thomas Bleich, 24, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.
According to the arrest affidavit from the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, Bleich got into an argument with his girlfriend after the two attended a Christmas party on Dec. 21.
The cashier at a Mobil gas station on Executive Drive in Naples told police she saw Bleich drive into the station’s parking lot in a red Mazda. She said he was “violently punching the gas pumps ... and the equipment inside the drive thru car wash.”
He also punched some trees before getting back into his car, where his girlfriend had remained in the passenger seat, according to the arrest affidavit.
When deputies arrived they said Bleich was sitting outside the car, with both doors open, sitting on a curb smoking a cigarette.
According to deputies, Bleich told them he was having an argument with his girlfriend, “that had gotten him so angry that he lost control and he began punching things.”
An officer said Bleich’s breath smelled of alcohol as he explained and that he had been drinking with his girlfriend at a Christmas party beforehand.
The car was not in motion when officers arrived.
When another deputy arrived to talk to the girlfriend, Bleich allegedly talked over the deputy so loudly that the officer had to raise his own voice and restrain Bleich in handcuffs.
The girlfriend, meanwhile, was crying as she told deputies that the two were, indeed, quarreling.
“She stated his behavior upset her so badly that she vomited outside the passenger car door,” the arrest report said. She also showed signs of alchohol-induced impairment, according to the report.
Police determined Bleich’s behavior “created a breach of peace. He was arrested and booked into Naples Jail Center.
Bleich was held on a $1,000 bond on Dec. 22 and released shortly after paying his bail. He faces a judge on Jan. 16 on the misdemeanor charge, according to court records.
According to the affidavit, when Bleich’s handcuffs were removed at the jail he “began punching the concrete wall.”
