Amber Alert update: Brother and sister missing for two days have been found
Jacksonville siblings Braxton Williams, 6, and Bri’ya Williams, 5, were found Tuesday afternoon about two days and five hours after they disappeared from their front yard.
An AMBER Alert had been in effect since Sunday.
Late Tuesday morning, Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Chief of Investigations TK Waters updated the investigation by announcing their first real lead in the case.
“We’re looking for a four-door, older model white vehicle with an older white male, possibly driving it,” Waters said. “Information we’ve been receiving is it’s been playing loud children’s music. We’d like to ask that individual some questions.”
When a reporter pointed out, the description of car and driver could fit many in the area, Waters said, “It’s playing loud children’s music and there won’t be a lot of people doing that.”
Waters said the car has been seen in the neighborhood around 10200 W. Beaver St. The parents, who JSO said have been “100 percent cooperative” with the investigation, told investigators the kids were playing in the front yard when they disappeared around 11:30 a.m. Sunday.
Waters said they’ve searched over 430 houses in the surrounding community, over 20 bodies of water and over 130 acres using air units and K9 units. The dogs didn’t pick up the kids’ scent.
Asked if there’s a threat to the community, Waters said, “At this point, we can’t tell.”
