Cops say a man was masturbating on a Florida beach. He had a different explanation.
A Woodbine, Georgia man traveled about 40 miles and 50 minutes to get to Florida’s Fernandina Beach.
While there, a woman told a Nassau County Sheriff’s Office deputy that she saw Raymond Joseph Martz masturbating on the beach.
Thursday afternoon, Martz, 62, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of exposing his sexual organs and briefly held on a $10,002 bond, according to Nassau County jail records.
When officers arrived at Main Beach Access point a woman told them Martz’s “shorts were pulled to the side,” CBS 47’s Action News Jax reported.
Martz reportedly told officers he was just adjusting his shorts. He later said he knew his genitals were exposed, but “it was to air them out.”
