Onetime “Ink Master” contestant Chris Blinston was far from the Hollywood spotlight on Monday night.

The tattoo artist was arrested and charged with simple battery, according to a police report from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office. Blinston was taken into custody after an argument with his girlfriend turned physical.

Authorities say the 45-year-old Wellington resident and his girlfriend were fighting over documents for their three children. When she said they were in put away in a safe, he grabbed the heavy object and threatened to bust it open with an ax, according to authorities. Things escalated, and the victim told deputies that he pressed the safe aggressively up against her body.

Blinston, who was on Season 6 of the Spike series in 2015, denied any wrongdoing. He was booked on a battery charge and released the following day. His bond amount is unclear.

Blinston works for No Hard Feelings tattoo shop in Coral Springs. In March, he and other employees donated free tats in exchange for donations to the victims of the Parkland massacre.
