Boynton Beach resident Jeremy Bailey’s life wasn’t worth $15 to convicted gun runner and thief Johnnie Lee Moye, according to an arrest report released after Moye’s arrest Monday.

Moye, 42, is charged with first-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon in Bailey’s Oct. 30 killing. According to Bailey’s fiancee Savanna Hollandsworth, he died in her arms in their front yard of the 600 block of Northeast First Street.

Hollandworth, who is pregnant with twins, posted to Facebook, “He was shot in the back and in his head as he was running away, and robbed while dying. I ran outside to him on the ground. I stayed on top of him pressing his wounds on his head and above his heart to stop the bleeding. I just kept telling him “I love you, you’re so strong keep fighting, don’t leave me, you have to meet your babies, your first daughter, we need you, I love you, you can’t go”, and he fought to hold on.”

Bailey was 26.

A witness told police that Moye pulled out a gun and waved it in Bailey’s face while saying Bailey owed him $15 or $20 because he sold crack to a user that was supposed to be Moye’s customer. The report says a confidential informant told a detective they heard Bailey was killed by Moye over $15. And Moye’s girlfriend, Tinisha Evans, told detectives Moye was arguing with a guy she didn’t know about $15.

The report said Evans watched this 3:20 a.m. argument from her 2011 Kia SUV, the same one police said they saw on surveillance footage.

“Evans said that Moye told her that he shot the victim because he thought (Bailey) had a gun,” the report said.

Police say surveillance video from a house nearby shows a male get out of the white SUV and talk to another man, “presumably (Bailey).”

Bailey “appears to turn and walk away from the suspect, at which point it appears that he fires a round at the wall,” the report said. “The suspect then appears to fire five more rounds at the back of the victim as he walks away.”

Moye got out of federal prison Dec. 29, 2017, after a 15-year sentence for unlawful transport of firearms. He has done three turns in Florida prisons for grand theft, cocaine possession and escape.
