Man celebrating 89th birthday ends up being pulled from flipped plane, reports say

A small plane flipped Sunday afternoon injuring two people in DeLeon Springs, according to reports.

The single-engine plane landed near Johnson Lake Road after experience engine trouble, WESH2 reported.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, Herbert Weens and passenger Kenneth Brownell were pulled by witnesses and treated for minor injuries.

The flight was a celebration for Brownell’s 89th birthday, the Daytona Beach News-Journal reported.
