A warning and a request for help issued from the Boynton Beach police after a 12-year-old said a man offered her $20 for sex.
The girl, who was walking in the parking lot of the CVS at 301 N. Federal Hwy. around 9 a.m. Sunday, told police she’d noticed the tan, four-door car following her even before the driver spoke to her. She rejected the offer from the driver, who wore a red hat, and ducked into the store. A clerk called 911.
“We encourage any child who is approached by a stranger to do exactly what this girl did,” Boynton Beach police said in a mass email. “Run to the nearest store or public place where there are other people and immediately call 911.”
Anyone with information on the car or the driver can submit it anonymously to Boynton Beach police 561-732-8116; Crime Stoppers of Palm Beach County at 800-458-TIPS (8477); or via bbpd.org, the department’s website.
