Shanan Diaz and Tanesha Gary - Largo Police Department

According to a Facebook post Tuesday from the Largo Police Department, two women who were seen on surveillance video entering the store then leaving in the same car in the video, have been arrested in the case.

Largo police had “probable cause” for the arrests of the passenger Tanesha Gary, 37, and alleged car owner/driver Shanan Diaz, 39, for a “robbery by sudden snatching.”

“The suspects drove a blue 2017 Hyundai Elantra, FL tag JHMU55, next to the victim, who was in a motorized shopping cart in the parking lot,” reads the release. “Suspect Gary forcibly took the victim’s purse and then re-entered the getaway car. As the Hyundai fled, the victim was partially dragged and fell, resulting in serious injuries.”

Both have records: Gary is a “career offender,” says the police report, and Diaz, has active felony warrants out of Lee County.

As for the condition of the victim, under the comments a woman named Moriah Dennington says that the shopper on the scooter is her mother and she is “recovering slowly. “
