He was chasing her around with a golf club. The fun started when the cops arrived.

A deputy from the Indian River County Sheriff's Office was called to a Sebastian home about a physical disturbance in progress on Wednesday evening.

According to the arrest report, dispatch had informed the officer that a man was chasing a woman around with a golf club and threatening to kill her. The caller told 911 that the man had fled into the street.

After a quick scan of the neighborhood, the officer was able to make contact with the individual matching the description walking around.

The officer commanded the suspect to stop but he took a "bladed stance toward me," referring to a side defensive position taken in fights.

The man, later identified as Rudolph Grant, was belligerent and "yelling."

The officer noted a strong smell of alcohol emanating from his body. Grant was also swaying back and forth, his eyes glassy.

The deputy tried to gain control of the man by grabbing his wrist, the report said, but Grant yanked his arm away and began walking in a different direction.

The officer was finally able to get control of his wrist and place the man in mechanical restraints, despite Grant's efforts to go "limp."

Once in the patrol car, the officer noted that the suspect said that he "really enjoyed resisting ... it was like being on 'Live PD,'" the A&E law enforcement reality show.

The 53-year-old Florida man was booked on a charge of resisting arrest and disorderly conduct and released on $1,000 bond.
