An argument over chicken sandwiches at a Mexico Beach campsite on northwest Florida’s Gulf Coast led to a 19-year-old man putting his pregnant girlfriend in a choke hold, according to police.

The Bay County Sheriff’s Office charged Christian Cameron Johnson with aggravated battery on a pregnant woman for the Jan. 14 incident, the Panama City News Herald reported.

The couple were at the picturesque Rustic Sands Campground in Mexico Beach on Sunday afternoon when the two started squabbling over the chicken dinner. The woman, who was in her 13th week, was allegedly attacked by Johnson. He was accused of grabbing her hair, putting her in a choke hold with his right arm, and then dragging her several feet before taking off.

Johnson is being held at Bay County Jail on a $7,500 bond and has been ordered not to contact his girlfriend. His next court appearance is scheduled for Feb. 26.
