A 5-foot alligator in a pipe? Now, that’s a clog

When you get a clogged pipe, you call a plumber.

When the source of that clog is a muddy, 5-foot alligator, you’d better have the number of an alligator trapper.

This was the scenario facing a group of construction workers in Indiantown in Florida’s Martin County on Monday in a video posted on Facebook by the Martin County Sheriff’s Office and later shared on ABC’s “Good Morning America.”

The crew were working on a project along Southwest Andalucia Court and Farm Road when they came across the gator. Spooked, the reptile raced into a large underground pipe.

The frightened beast blocked the workers from getting into a 60-inch pipe that goes under a road, TCPalm reported.

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officials called in an alligator trapper, who removed the gator from the pipe and led it away down the road on a leash — as if walking a dog.
