Video shows a ‘crazy’ cop capturing a 9-foot anaconda, then stuffing it in a bag
Have a nine-foot anaconda slithering in your yard?
No big deal. At least for Detective Emily Shaw of the Leon County Sheriff's Office in Tallahassee.
In a Facebook video released by the agency, Shaw — wearing jeans, a blue blouse and a gun belt — is seen wrapping her hand around the yellow anaconda’s tail and gently dragging the snake into a brown duffel bag.
As Shaw handles the snake, a co-worker videotaping is heard laughing in disbelief, cheering her on and calling her “crazy.”
“Ms. Shaw you are cra-zy,” he said in the video. “You are crazy, girl.”
According to the sheriff’s office, Shaw has experience handling exotic snakes. The anaconda was found on the east side of Leon County, near Louvinia Drive.
“We believe this was someone's pet that either escaped or was released,” according to the Leon County Sheriff's Office’s Facebook post. “If you own an exotic pet — please be responsible.”
