George Postell was so unhappy with the way his wife, Twyla, interrupted his dominoes game in the park that he called the police.

She fired a gun at him from five feet away, George and a witness told High Springs police on Monday.

The incident report said Twyla Postell, 44, said the gunshot sound came from kids’ fireworks and “I’m on probation for [battery] and I wouldn’t do anything to mess that up.”

Still, Twyla wound up going to Alachua County Jail on a charge of domestic violence-aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill.

The Postells’ relationship includes a temporary restraining order Twyla filed against George in 2015. On Monday, George and Terry Gassett told police, they were playing dominoes in Catherine Taylor Park when Twyla showed up.

“That’s when my wife came to the table and told my friends they better get up and leave,” George Postell said. “I got up from the table and began to walk towards the road. My wife followed behind me, pulled out a silver and black gun and fired off a single round at me from five feet away.”

The shot missed.
