Another salmonella threat recall: Snack mixes, including Target’s store brand
A new recall on salmonella threats has pulled four brands of snack mixes made by John B. Sanfilippo & Son, including Target’s Good & Gather.
The last week of recalls and a USDA public health alert all ripple from California Dairies recall of dry milk powder over salmonella concerns. As with other recalled products, the snack mixes used a seasoning that contained recalled dry milk powder.
“The affected seasoning batches tested negative for salmonella prior to use,” John B. Sanfilippo & Son’s FDA-posted recall notice said. “However, the company is taking this action as a precautionary measure because of the potential that these products may contain the presence of salmonella.”
