Nasal spray recall for yeast/mold and microbial contamination includes Publix

WEDNESDAY UPDATE: The recall has been expanded.

Publix posted Monday that its stores are included in last week’s recall of ReBoost Nasal Spray, which “has been found to contain yeast/mold and microbial contamination with one species identified as Achromobacter, at levels above specifications.”

That’s from the recall notice written by MediNatura New Mexico, which has expanded its recall to include all lots of both ReBoost Nasal Spray and ClearLife Allergy Nasal Spray with expiration dates between December 2022 and December 2025.

The original recall involved only ReBoost, lot No. 224268 an expiration date of December 2027.

“This expansion has been initiated due to the company’s further investigative efforts,” MediaNatura’s recall expansion notice said.

“There is a reasonable probability that adverse health consequences, including life-threatening infections will occur with use of the product in the immuno-compromised population,” the notice’s risk statement said. “To date, MediNatura has not received any reports of adverse events related to this recall.”
