Florida produce company recalls product sold only at Publix after finding salmonella
Baby arugula has been recalled by a Lake Worth Beach produce company after it found salmonella in the lot that went to Publix stores and Publix’s Greenwise stores.
“The potential for contamination was noted after routine testing by the company revealed the presence of salmonella in a single harvest of baby arugula,” Green Life Farms said in its FDA-posted recall notice. Green Life said it “took immediate corrective action and additional harvests remain unaffected.”
The recalled lot of Green Life Farms Baby Arugula is lot No. LW15124 with a sell by date of 6/15/24, went to Publix stores on May 31 and is sold in 4-ounce plastic containers.

One of the most common foodborne illnesses, salmonella infects about 1.35 million in the United States each year, according to the CDC. Usually, people recover from the fever, diarrhea and stomachaches in four to seven days, but about 26,500 people each year get hospitalized and 420 die from salmonella. Children under 5 years old and senior citizens are most likely to get the worst symptoms.
