Recalls

Here’s why three styles of $1,000 women’s high-heeled sandals have been recalled

You’d expect high-heeled sandals retailing from $920 to $1,080 to be so well made that they wouldn’t break. Apparently, that’s not the case with the sandals from Khaite’s Spring Summer 2024, which were recalled on Thursday.

“The heels on the shoes can detach, posing a fall hazard,” the recall alert from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission explains.

The alert says Khaite doesn’t know of any falls yet.

This covers three styles.

Linden Sandal: Model Nos. F3047-780-580, a Scarlet Red patent leather sandal; F3047-790-905, a Khaki leather sandal; F3047-783-170, a Warm White leather sandal; F3047-803-121, a Natural (faux snake skin) novelty material sandal; and F3047-808-362, a Sapphire novelty material sandal.

The footwear was sold from October 2022 through this July at stores including Bergdorf-Goodman, Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue, as well as Khaite’s Mercer Street store in New York. They were also sold through various online outlets.

Khaite is taking the financial fall on this one, offering refunds. If you bought the recalled shoes from third-party sellers, return the sandals to the seller for a full refund or store credit. If you bought them from Khaite, either online or the brick-and-mortar stores, email info@khaite.com for return instructions (free shipping, if necessary) and to have questions answered about this recall.
