2.2 million candles sold only at Target recalled. They might cause cuts and burns
Candles should bring good smells to the room, not bring out the first aid kit to treat cuts or burns. That’s why Target recalled 2.2 million candles sold under its Threshold brand.
“The candle’s jar can crack or break during use, posing laceration and burn hazards,” the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recall notice states.
Target knows about 19 times jars have cracked or broken, one that caused an injury.
This covers 62 different candles sold in 5.5-ounce jars (one wick) or 20-ounce jars (three wicks). A full list of recalled candles is in in both the CPSC recall notice and on Target’s website.
If you have any of these candles, stop using them and return them to any Target for full refund. If you need to do it by mail, reach out to Target for a prepaid return label.
