Recall alert: Probiotics sold at Walmart and Amazon for people, and elsewhere for pets

Probiotics for kids, adults, canines, felines, equines and swine were recalled Tuesday by Ozona Organics because they have the “potential to become contaminated with microbial growth.”

The people probiotics were sold under the brands Ozona Probiotics for Digestive Health and GoHealthy Probiotics. The over-the-counter drugs for cats, dogs, horses and pigs were sold as Ozona Organics Cat, Dog, Equine or Swine.

Ozona’s FDA-posted recall notice explained it found “high water activity in the formula that provides a potential for microbial growth, which may be harmful.”

No illnesses have been reported yet, the company said.
