Chick peas, roasted nuts, spread recalled in Florida, Texas, California, 4 other states
Jabsons recalled 66 lots of a variety of snacks sold via its Amazon.com store and retail stores in seven states for a food allergy danger.
Jabsons Roasted Peanut, Tandoori Peanut Spread, Thai sweet Chilli Roasted Peanut, Tandoori Kaju-Cashew Nuts and Tandoori Roasted Chana (Chick Peas) might have milk as an undeclared allergen. That’s no problem for most people, but a huge problem for those who have a milk allergy.
As the boiler-plate recall notice warning states, “People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.”
Jabsons said “the problem was caused by an oversight in identifying the milk allergen during receiving the seasoning mix.”
In addition to the online sales, the snacks involved went to stores in Florida, New York, New Jersey, Texas, Virginia, California (Los Angeles and Oakland) and Chicago.
The lot numbers involved are included in the recall notice.
If you have the snacks involved and they might be eaten by someone with a milk allergy, toss them or return them to the store for a refund.
