More salad recalls on listeria concerns, these from the USA’s ninth-largest grocer
The list of packaged salads recalled on listeria concerns now includes 12 kinds sold under the Fresh From Meijer brand.
Meijer, listed by FoodIndustry.com as the nation’s ninth-largest grocer, recalled its store brand salads Friday in conjunction with supplier Revolution Farms. The recall posted to the FDA website on Monday.

According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, listeria kills about 260 of the 1,600 Americans infected each year. Senior citizens, pregnant women and children under 5 are the most vulnerable to listeria’s worse effects. Listeria can cause stillbirths and miscarriage. Listeria symptoms include nausea, diarrhea, high fever, severe headaches, stomachaches, stiffness, confusion and poor balance.

These went to Meijer stores in Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin.
