A Broward company’s recalled food products, sold around Florida, weren’t USDA inspected

About 488 pounds of frozen sfihas, a flatbread pizza-like dish, have been recalled by Plantation’s Wow Frozen Food after they were made without USDA inspection.

“The problem was discovered during routine (Food Safety and Inspection Service) surveillance activities when various frozen sfihas meat and poultry products that did not have the USDA mark of inspection were observed at a retail location,” the USDA recall notice said. “Upon further investigation, FSIS determined that the products were not produced in an FSIS-inspected establishment.”

State records say Wow Frozen Food registered with the state March 21, 2022, and lists a principal business address as a rented Plantation house.

The sfihas were distributed to stores and sold via Instagram, the USDA said. They were sold in Frango Catupiry (Cream Cheese Chicken), Calabresa (Brazilian Kielbasa), Carne (Beef) and Queijo Bacon (Cheese with Bacon).

If you have any of these products, return them to the store for a full refund or trash them.

The recall notice says if you have questions about this recall, call Wow Frozen Foods at 954-664-9497.
