Shrimp that might be spoiled recalled from Walmart, Safeway, Albertsons and other chains
One lot of Geisha Medium Shrimp has been recalled because the seafood might be bad food.
The recall notice written by Kawasho Foods and posted by the FDA says Kawasho has received reports of “swelling, leaking, or bursting cans. There is a possibility that the product has been under processed, which could lead to the potential for spoilage organisms or pathogens.
“Consumers should not use this product, even if it does not look or smell spoiled.”
This covers 4-ounce cans with UPC code 071140003909 from lot No. LGC12W12E22 with a best by date of “MAY/12/2026.” Though Kawasho’s out of New York, the recalled shrimp went to Associated Foods, Albertsons, Safeway, Stater Bros. and Walmart stores in California, Utah, Arizona and Colorado.
Return the cans to the stores where they were bought for a full refund. If you have any questions, call Kawasho at 212-841-7400, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Eastern time, or email info@geishabrand.com.
