Milk chocolates sold only in Target stores nationwide have been recalled
One lot of milk chocolates sold under Target’s store brand Favorite Day have been recalled after a packaging mistake might’ve created a food allergy danger.
Silvestri Sweets Inc. made Favorite Day Valentine’s Milk Chocolate Covered Caramels with Nonpareils for Target. But, the labeling on the 8-ounce packs don’t tell folks that tree nuts, an allergen, are among the ingredients.
That’s not a problem for most people. But, as the recall notice states, “People who have allergies to tree nuts (chestnuts, Brazil nuts, walnuts, hazelnuts, pecans, pine nuts, cashews) run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.”
This covers lot No. 33822 with a best by date of “07 DEC 2023.”
If there’s no chance these will wind up in the mouth of someone with a tree nut allergy, carry on as normal. If there is a chance someone with a tree nut allergy will eat these, return them to a Target store for a refund or call Target at 800-440-0680.
If you have a question about this recall, call Silvestri at 630-232-2500, Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Eastern time.
