Pieces of rubber in the meat caused 7,500 pounds of Italian sausage to be recalled

“Blue rubber” doesn’t make the ingredients list of the many things that can go into sausage, which is why Bob Evans Farms recalled 7,560 pounds its Italian Sausage Friday.

The USDA-written recall notice says Bob Evans told the agency’s Food Safety and Inspection Service that it “had received consumer complaints reporting thin blue pieces of rubber in the product.”

What’s recalled were sold nationwide in 1-pound chubs with lot No. XEN3663466 and a use by/freeze by date of 11/26/22, and time stamp between 14:43 and 15:25. Inside the USDA mark of inspection is “EST. 6785.”
