A dangerous food allergy situation caused a recall of two lots of O Organics Sea Salt Organic Popcorn at several chain stores in California, New York and 15 other states.

“This product is being recalled due to cross contamination with a milk allergen,” says the FDA-posted recall notice, written by manufacturer Snak King. “People who have an allergy or sensitivity to milk may risk serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.”

These are 5-ounce bags with best by dates of 9/24/2022 and 9/25/2022. They were sent to Safeway, Albertsons, Jewel-Osco, Vons, ACME, King’s, Balducci’s, Andronico’s Community Markets, Pak ‘N Save, Eagle, Carrs-Safeway, Haggen, and Pavilions stores in California, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Alaska, Delaware, Idaho, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Hawaii, Nevada, Oregon and Washington state, plus Washington, D.C.

If you have this popcorn and there’s no chance it’ll be eaten by someone with a milk allergy, you can ignore this recall.

If you have it and there’s a chance someone with a milk allergy will come in contact with it, return it to the store for a full refund.

If you have questions, call Snak King at 626-363-7711, Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Eastern time.
