A Birds Eye product has been recalled after rocks or metal in the food injured teeth

The Birds Eye website describes Broccoli Tots as being “crispy, veggie goodness with every bite,” but 12-ounce bags have been recalled because some crispy bites might include “small rocks and metal fragments.”

That admission comes from the Conagra Brands not-food-in-your-food recall announcement. Conagra also says it knows of two dental injuries from the Broccoli Tots.

The recalled bags are from lot No. 4715105620, best by AUG-19-2022 and AUG-25-2022; lot No. 4715104220, best by AUG-11-2022 and AUG-12-2022; lot No. 4715113720, best by NOV-17-2022; and lot No. 4715113020, best by NOV-10-2022.

Though Conagra quietly announced the recall on its website Friday, as of Tuesday afternoon, among the nation’s top five grocery sellers, only Florida-based Publix had posted the recall to its site. Yet, Tuesday night, the Publix at Miami’s River Landing location still had bags from lot No. 4715104220, best by AUG-12-2022, on its freezer shelves.

You can return the Broccoli Tots to the store of purchase for a full refund.

Those with questions should contact Conagra at 800-921-7404, Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Eastern time, or via email at consumer.care@conagra.com.
