Polls have closed in South Florida. See live election results for Broward County races

Voters went to the polls in South Florida on Tuesday in an election with high turnout and higher implications.

In Broward County, voters cast ballots for sheriff, and mayors and commissioners in many cities. There were also two countywide referendums.
