President Trump and Elon Musk have forged ahead with an aggressive plan to downsize the federal government, with Musk using his Department of Government Efficiency to reduce personnel, cancel contracts and halt aid to organizations.

In Florida, we are beginning to see some of the affects of the cuts, from the mass layoffs at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, which included a high profile meteorologist from Miami, to the cuts to the National Park Service, which resulted in job losses for staff at Everglades and Dry Tortugas national parks, Biscayne National Park, the Big Cypress National Preserve and the South Florida Natural Resources Center.

If you are a South Florida resident and you work for a government agency, nonprofit or other organization, and changes implemented by President Trump and DOGE are affecting or could affect you, the Miami Herald wants to hear from you.

Please fill out the form below, and one of our Herald reporters will reach out to you.
