The August primary elections aren’t all about candidates for Congress and governor. Plenty of voters will also need to make a decision on who should represent them on the Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners.

On the newest episode of the Miami Herald’s Café con Politics podcast, County Hall reporter Douglas Hanks stops by to walk you through who’s on the ballot, what’s unusual about this cycle, and the context surrounding the Aug. 28 election. As a bonus we talk a little Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Giménez, who just announced his opposition to Miami Mayor Francis Suarez’ strong mayor proposal, and U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, who announced his opposition to the Giménez-backed 836 extension.
