Prince Harry speaks out on divorce rumors with Meghan Markle. ‘Hard to keep up with’
While attending The New York Times’ 2024 DealBook Summit in New York City Dec. 4, Prince Harry addressed the many rumors that often surround himself and his wife, Meghan Markle.
According to People, while addressing other attendees, Harry said, “Apparently we’ve bought or moved house 10, 12 times.”
He also addressed the most recent rumors that he and Markle have made the decision to divorce. “We’ve apparently divorced maybe 10, 12 times as well. So it’s just like, what?”
“It’s hard to keep up with,” Harry admitted, “but that’s why you just sort of ignore it.”
However, despite the rumors often made about his family, Harry says he feels mostly sorry for the people who give weight to the false information.
“The people I feel most sorry about are the trolls,” Harry continued, according to People. “Their hopes are just built and built, and it’s like, ‘Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes,’ and then it doesn’t happen. So I feel sorry for them. Genuinely, I do.”
Harry and Markle, who have been married since May 2018, are parents to 5-year-old old Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor and 3-year-old Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor.
Markle wasn’t with Harry at the summit because she was attending the 2024 Paley Honors Fall Gala the same day to support her friend and Lilibet’s godfather, Tyler Perry.
Perry was receiving the highest honor from The Paley Center for Media.
In an earlier interview with Marie Claire, Markle shared how excited her family of four is for the holidays, especially now that Archie and Lilibet are getting older.
“Every year it gets better,” Markle told Marie Claire. “I love the holidays.”
“At first, I think as a mom with children you’re just enjoying having them there, but they’re not understanding everything that’s happening yet,” Markle said of holidays past.
“But now we’re at the age where I just can’t wait to see it through their lens every year,” she said of her kids.
