‘We all pray to Allah for a beautiful Eid.’ See celebrations in Miami and worldwide

Muslims in South Florida and around the world celebrated the first day of Eid ul-Adha on Saturday with a day devoted to prayers and gathering.

The major Muslim holiday, held at the end of the hajj pilgrimage to Mecca, is observed around the world by believers and commemorates prophet Abraham’s pledge to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God.

CAIR-Florida’s executive director, Imam Abdullah Jabar sent a welcome message to the faithful on Saturday morning by email and Instagram.

“As families in Florida gather for prayer and breaking bread, we all pray to Allah for a beautiful Eid celebration. ... May your Eid-ul-Adha be filled to the brim with Allah’s grace, joy, and warmth. ... Because of you we are changing Florida for the better every single day by the grace of Allah.”
