Victims of Hurricane Matthew in the eastern region of Cuba will be offered assistance from the World Food Program in coordination with the Cuban government, the international organization announced Tuesday.

Food delivery will help feed some 180,000 people primarily in Guantánamo province affected by the wrath of the storm.

“We are working closely with the authorities to support the Cuban populations affected by this disaster,” said Laura Melo, a WFP representative in Havana, Prensa Latina reported.
