Gilmore Girls star hid secret baby for half a year
Alexis Bledel has a skill for keeping her personal life secret, likely to the envy of most other celebrities.
The 34-year-old Gilmore Girls star had a baby boy in the fall with her husband, Vincent Kartheiser, 37, best known for his role as Pete Campbell on Mad Men.
The public wasn’t aware of the baby until Scott Patterson, the actor who plays Luke Danes on Gilmore Girls, revealed that Bledel was a mother in an interview with Glamour. Patterson was being interviewed about the revival of the Gilmore Girls series on Netflix.
“She’s really blossomed as a woman and now she’s a proud new mother and married and happy,” Patterson said in the story published Wednesday. “I remember her as an 18-year-old kid, fresh out of college coming into Hollywood and being a little overwhelmed.”
Bledel and Kartheiser met on the set of Mad Men, when Bledel had a brief role in the TV series. Both played married characters who had an affair with one another.
The two got married in a secret ceremony in the early summer of 2014, and the public didn’t find out until about two months later.
