Turtle rockets through woman’s windshield on highway

Oh Florida, land of gators, weird news and, apparently, flying turtles.

Nicole Bjanes was driving on Interstate-4 in Deltona at about 80 miles per hour on Monday afternoon when a turtle came flying through her windshield, according to ABC News.

Miraculously, both the woman and the turtle were fine.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers said another car ran over the turtle on the interstate, propelling the animal into the air and into Bjanes’ windshield.

Bjanes said she didn’t realize the debris in the road was a turtle, and that after it crashed through the glass it bounced off the passenger seat and landed on her dashboard.

Bjanes was treated for minor cuts on scene. She wrote on Facebook that the turtle was OK and was placed back in the water near the roadway.
