Reporter and photographer shot to death on live TV

A reporter and and photographer from WBDJ in Virginia were shot to death Wednesday morning during a live TV interview.

According to CNN, reporter Alison Parker, 24, and photographer Adam Ward, 27, were killed while reporting a feature story at Bridgewater Plaza near Moneta, Virginia.

The shooter is still at-large.

“This is a horrific day for our family and the community we serve,” the station’s chief meteorologist, Brent Watts, said in a tweet.

The station is based in Roanoke, Virginia, and serves the southwest and central part of the state. The shopping mall is just off Smith Mountain Lake, according to The Associated Press.

Moneta is about 25 miles southeast of Roanoke.

The Roanoke Times is reporting the subject of the interview, Vicki Gardner, was shot in the back and is in surgery.
