Popular Multivitamin Recalled Over Risk of Child Poisoning
Wellness brand Mindbodygreen has recalled about 148,370 bottles of Ultimate Multivitamin+ after federal regulators said the products’ packaging violated child-resistant standards, creating a risk of serious injury or death if young children access the capsules, according to a company press release and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), which announced the recall on January 29. 2026.
The Recalled Product
The recall covers specific lots of Ultimate Multivitamin+, which is a dietary supplement.
The affected supplements come in 8-ounce amber glass bottles with black caps and can be identified by Universal Product Codes (UPCs) 850027975177 and 850027975429.
The bottles contain 60 capsules and were sold exclusively via Mindbodygreen.com, for between $40 and $70-depending on the type of subscription the consumer has-from November 2021 through November 2025, according to the agency and the company’s recall summary.
According to the CPSC notice, the products were manufactured in the United States by Arizona Nutritional Supplements and VitaQuest, and distributed online by Mindbodygreen.
Why The Product Was Recalled-The Details
The CPSC recall notice said that the product has been recalled because the packaging “is not child-resistant, posing a risk of serious injury or death from poisoning if the contents are swallowed by young children.”
This applies because the supplement contains iron, and federal law mandates child‑resistant packaging for products that contain certain levels of iron to prevent potentially fatal accidental ingestion by young children.
According to the CPSC, the recalled Mindbodygreen bottles-specifically the caps-did not meet the child‑resistant standards required under the Poison Prevention Packaging Act, prompting the recall.
Emma Engler, the Scientific Affairs Manager at Mindbodygreen, confirmed this in an interview with Good Housekeeping, saying that the multivitamin “poses an iron poisoning risk to small children if they were to swallow several capsules at once.”
She emphasized that the recall is “strictly related to the packaging, not the supplement itself,” and that the “Ultimate Multivitamin+ capsules and formula remain high quality and safe for intended adult use. There are no issues with the ingredients, potency, or product safety.”
According to the CPSC and Mindbodygreen, no incidents or injuries have been reported at the time of publishing.
Advice For Consumers With The Affected Product
Consumers with the recalled multivitamin have been advised by Mindbodygreen and the CPSC to keep the product out of children's reach. Mindbodygreen says that consumers can contact the company at multi@mindbodygreen.com and request a free, child-resistant replacement cap.
Engler confirmed to Good Housekeeping that Mindbodygreen has “reached out to our Ultimate Multivitamin+ customers and is providing free child-resistant replacement caps for any customers who request one. The cap features a push-and-turn mechanism.”
