Chipotle Announces Menu Update
Chipotle Mexican Grill has announced it's rolling out a new athlete-inspired, limited-time menu and is also bringing back its iconic gold-foil-wrapped burritos as part of a campaign to celebrate some of America's top athletes.
Chipotle's New Limited-Time Menu
The restaurant chain has partnered with five U.S. athletes-hockey players Matthew Tkachuk of the Florida Panthers, the Ottawa Senators’ Brady Tkachuk, Seattle Torrent forward Hilary Knight, and the Minnesota Frost’s Taylor Heise, as well as snowboarder Red Gerard-to offer customers five new menu items, which can be ordered online or via app, for a limited period of time.
Each new menu item reflects the athlete's own go‑to Chipotle order, many of which are naturally high in protein to support a typical athlete’s diet.
Stephanie Perdue, interim chief marketing officer, said, "While the path to greatness is different for each of these star athletes, Chipotle is consistently part of their training regimen, providing easy access to real ingredients and high-protein options."
The new athlete-inspired menu items are:
The Matthew Tkachuk Bowl
This is a burrito bowl which features a double serving of chicken, brown rice, tomatillo-red chili salsa, sour cream, and lettuce, and includes 67 grams of protein.
The Brady Tkachuk Bowl
This is also a burrito bowl, featuring a half chicken and half steak, with white rice and roasted chili-corn salsa, which offers 60 grams of protein.
The Hilary Knight Burrito
This is a Chipotle burrito with white rice, pinto beans, fresh tomato salsa, cheese, and guacamole, and contains 28 grams of protein.
The Taylor Heise Tacos
This menu item includes three soft flour tortilla tacos filled with chicken, tomato salsa, roasted chili-corn salsa, sour cream, cheese, and lettuce, and has around 50 grams of protein.
The Red Gerard Bowl
Another burrito bowl, which has chicken, extra white rice, tomatillo-red chili salsa, cheese, sour cream, and lettuce, and has 48 grams of protein.
As part of the campaign, Chipotle is also bringing out four new episodes of its "Unwrapped" series-a collection of behind-the-scenes stories from people that Chipotle partners with that show how the company fits into their lives.
The new episodes will feature interviews with each "superfan athlete," as they discuss how they got to where they are in their sporting careers.
The Return of the Gold-Foil-Wrapped Burritos
In addition to the new menu items, Chipotle also announced the return of gold-foil-wrapped burritos across nationwide locations from February 6, 2026: "We are honoring Team Chipotle by bringing back gold foil and extending this moment of celebration to fans across the U.S," the press release states.
