‘Frasier’ alum Kelsey Grammer welcomes eighth child at 70 with wife Kayte Walsh
Kelsey Grammer is at it again — and fans are having a hard time accepting it.
During an Oct. 27 appearance on the “Pod Meets World” podcast, the 70-year-old “Frasier” alum was opening up about his sister’s tragic death in 1975 when he revealed some exciting news about his family.
“Just had our fourth one, so it just became eight kids,” he said of his growing family. “It was like three days ago. Pretty cool. Christopher — that’s just joined the family.”
The actor is already a father to three children — Faith, 13, Gabriel, 11, and James, 8 — with his wife Kayte Walsh, whom he has been married to since early 2011, per People.
He also has four older children — Spencer, 42, Greer, 33, Mason, 24, and Jude, 21 — from three previous relationships: Doreen Alderman, Barrie Buckner and Camille Grammer.
On the podcast, Kelsey Grammer joked that his kids “come in clusters,” which led Danielle Fishel to joke that having eight kids gives him the right to “section them off however” he wants.
The baby news comes four months after Walsh’s pregnancy was revealed.
In June, the couple — who celebrated their 14-year wedding anniversary in February — were spotted walking down a street and through a park together in London, according to People.
Walsh’s baby bump was in full force at the time. People was the first to confirm the pregnancy.
Fans share mixed emotions over Kelsey Grammer’s kids
It didn’t take long for social media to share their opinions on Kelsey Grammer’s baby news.
“At this point he’s raising his own audience,” one X user joked .
“Something tells me Frasier would have to question the sanity of Kelsey Grammer for having a child this late in life. When that kid graduates high school, he will be 88 years old,” another X user wrote.
While some users called Kelsey Grammer “selfish” due to his old age, others congratulated him.
“Age is just a number when the heart is full Kelsey Grammer proving that love, life, and family never go out of season,” a third X user wrote.
Kelsey Grammer and Walsh first met in 2009 while the latter was working as a flight attendant. According to People, Kelsey Grammer was a passenger on her plane — and the two hit it off immediately.
At that time, Kelsey Grammer was still married to his third wife, Camille Grammer (née Donatacci).
Kelsey Grammer and Donatacci, who share two kids (Mason and Jude) together, tied the knot in 1997 and were married for 13 years before Donatacci filed for divorce, which was finalized in 2011.
Kelsey Grammer married Walsh less than one month later.
In a 2012 interview on “Oprah’s Next Chapter,” Kelsey Grammer’s wife opened up about the origin of their relationship.
“I’m not proud of the way we started out because he was in a marriage. I’m sorry. I have so many emotions. But you know, I fell in love. I don’t know how to word it,” she told host Oprah Winfrey.
Outside of Walsh and Donatacci, Kelsey Grammer was also married to dancer Leigh-Anne Csuhany for one year and Doreen Alderman, whom he shares his first child, Spencer, with.
He later welcomed Greer with then-girlfriend Barrie Buckner.
