A dog found “pregnant and tied to a tree” was rescued — and now, she needs a home.

“She was found tied to a tree in the woods by our partner shelter,” a Georgia animal shelter told McClatchy News in an Oct. 1 email. “We provided the puppies medical care, and the partner placed them for adoption.”

All of Lottie’s pups have since gotten homes, but she still waits for a second chance at the Atlanta Humane Society.

“Her pups moved on long ago, but she’s still here, hoping for a calm place to land,” the shelter wrote in a Facebook post. “She’s sweet, wiggly, house-trained, treat-motivated, and loves walks and snuggles.”

The mama dog is up for adoption after she landed at the shelter in April. After she was saved from the woods, the shelter believes she gave birth to 10 babies.

Despite getting a rough start, the humane society said Lottie hasn’t let it stop her “from being a sweet, loving girl who’s ready for a brand-new beginning.”

Lottie is described as a 4-year-old, mixed-breed dog. During her months at the shelter, she has become known for enjoying adventures and showering people with kisses.

“I’m still learning about the big wide world,” the shelter said in an adoption profile written from Lottie’s perspective. “Stairs and elevators can be tricky for me, I get nervous in the car, and I’d likely do best as the only dog in the household for now.”

As of Oct. 6, the shelter’s website still listed Lottie among the dogs in need of new owners. Details about the animal organization’s adoption process can be found at atlantahumane.org.

“Even though my past was tough, I’m ready to move forward into a home where I can be the loyal, affectionate companion I was always meant to be,” the shelter wrote.
