Border patrol agent accused of ‘revenge porn’ gets 63-day jail sentence in AZ
A border patrol agent was accused of keeping nude photos of three people to use as “revenge porn,” Arizona officials said.
Ryan Bell kept “intimate digital photos” of three people while working as a border patrol agent, according to a Sept. 18 Facebook post by the Cochise County Attorney’s Office.
He kept the photos on his own devices and was planning to “use them as leverage in a separate court case,” prosecutors said.
During his sentencing, the victims explained the emotional damage the crime left them with, officials said.
Although jail time isn’t mandated under the plea agreement, the judge believed it was justified, officials said.
Bell, now a former agent, was sentenced to 63 days in jail and three years of probation in which he isn’t allowed to work in law enforcement, officials said.
Cochise County is about a 200-mile drive southeast from Phoenix.
